The India Meteorological Department (IMD) says it will rain more in the next few days.
Some of the hardest rain in the last 24 hours fell in Mumbai and Pune. Both towns’ roads were flooded, which led to long traffic jams and bus service problems.
On Mumbai’s Central and Western lines, local trains were running late.
A lot of schools in Mumbai and Pune called a holiday because they were worried about the safety of their kids and staff.
