Emotional Uddhav and Raj Thackeray Reunion at Matoshree
“We’re going to have a bright future,” Uddhav said of Raj’s visit to Matoshree.
In order to meet his cousin Uddhav, MNS head chairman Raj Thackeray drove from his home in Shivteerth in Dadar on Sunday to Matoshree, the Thackeray family’s home in Bandra, Mumbai. MNS leaders Nitin Sardesai and Bala Nandgaonkar were with him.

Uddhav Thackeray, the leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT), stated on Sunday that he was “extremely glad” that his cousin Raj Thackeray had come to Matoshree to wish him a happy 65th birthday and to wish the two brothers a bright future.
“I am really happy that we have finally met after a long time apart. We have a bright future ahead of us. During a news conference, Uddhav stated, “We met at the house where we grew up.”

Raj Thackeray, the leader of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), left his home in Shivteerth in Dadar on Sunday to visit his cousin Uddhav at Matoshree, the Thackeray family’s home in Bandra, Mumbai. MNS leaders Nitin Sardesai and Bala Nandgaonkar were with him.
Uddhav and Raj Thackeray posed for a picture during the visit, with Bal Thackeray’s portrait in the backdrop. “On the occasion of my elder brother and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray’s birthday, I visited Matoshree, the residence of Bal Thackeray, to extend my wishes,” Raj wrote after posting the photo on his ‘X’ handle, which was formerly known as Twitter.

Remarkably, Raj hadn’t been to Matoshree since 2012, when Bal Thackeray passed away.

The two also took part in the victory demonstration on July 5 to express their opposition to the Maharashtra government’s decision to make Hindi a third language starting in Class 1 in public schools.
They “have come together to remain together,” Uddhav declared during the event, adding that they would “collectively capture power in the Mumbai civic body and Maharashtra.” Raj, meanwhile, had criticised the Maharashtra government for “imposing Hindi,” claiming that it was a “unnecessary issue” and that there was no justification for it.
Because of the Marathi people’s tremendous solidarity, the Maharashtra government decided to overturn the decision on the three-language formula. He had stated that the proposal to split Mumbai from Maharashtra was preceded by this decision.
