Delhi Election Results 2025
Delhi Election: The counting of ballots for the Delhi Assembly polls starts on Saturday, setting the stage for the conclusion of a months-long political battle between the ruling AAP, the opposition BJP, and the Congress.
The stakes are high for both the AAP and the saffron party since the outcomes could determine the future of both parties. Pollsters are giving the BJP the advantage because the party fought the election aggressively, attacking Arvind Kejriwal and the Delhi government.
According to predictions, Congress will not be competing for the position of government in the nation’s capital and could end up in third place overall.
Let’s examine some of the major candidates, their pledges, and which party might have a better chance of winning power for the next five years on the day of the vote-counting that will decide which party controls Delhi next.
Important Delhi Candidates: Arvind Kejriwal
After being granted bail in a corruption case last year, Arvind Kejriwal resigned as chief minister. He had promised to hold the position only after receiving a “certificate of honesty” from the electorate in the Delhi Assembly Elections in 2025. With the announcement of the New Delhi constituency results after 8 am on Saturday, his reputation and future in Delhi, as well as in the opposition’s INDIA bloc, are also in jeopardy.
Kejriwal, who has been the representative for the New Delhi constituency since 2013, is facing Parvesh Verma. Kejriwal has stated his confidence in removing the AAP chairman from power, both in the government and in the seat. Verma and Kejriwal are running against Congressman Sandeep Dikshit, who is the son of former chief minister Sheila Dikshit. The BJP is the most popular party in the constituency, according to a poll, which suggests that Kejriwal might lose the seat he won three times in a row.
Manish Sisodia
Manish Sisodia, the former Deputy Chief Minister, served in the Assembly as the representative for Patparganj before being given the Jangpura seat to run for. He faces Farhad Suri of the Congress and Sardar Tarvinder Singh Marwah of the BJP. Sisodia faces high stakes since, like Kejriwal, he is battling corruption allegations in the liquor policy case.
Atishi
From her customary Kalkaji seat, Chief Minister Atishi re-contested against Congresswoman Alka Lamba and BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri. The AAP has stated on the campaign road that Arvind Kejriwal, not Atishi, will be the Chief Minister if the party is able to hold onto power in Delhi.
