Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Sunday that the Maharashtra government will draft a bill establishing a Kumbh Mela Authority on the lines of Uttar Pradesh part of its great preparations for Kumbh Mela 2027.
“We will soon introduce a law for setting up a Kumbh Mela Authority on the lines of UP,” Fadnavis said while visiting Nashik reviewing pre-Kumbh planning and preparations.
“This would enable efficient crowd control and give Kumbh Mela-related initiatives a legal foundation. The Authority will also be charged with the management of several facilities, which is essential for the event.
One of the twelve Jyotirlings in India, the Trimbakeshwar temple complex would be developed under government extensive plans, he said. In keeping with the Simhastha Kumbh Mela, he underlined the need of accelerating the first phase of the intended development project for Trimbakeshwar. “For all the projects under progress, the quality and standard have to be kept constant. The required money for these improvement projects will come from the state government.
Discussions on the projected Trimbakeshwar Development Plan emerged during a review conference on the forthcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027 at the Government Rest House.
Present at the meeting were Minister for Water’s The resources (Vidarbha, Tapi, and Konkan Irrigation Development Corporation) and Disaster Management Girish Mahajan, Minister for School Education Dadaji Bhuse, MLAs Devyani Pharande, Seema Hire, Dr Rahul Aher, Divisional Commissioner Dr Pravin Gedam, Inspector General of Police Dattatraya Karale, Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik, District Collector Jalaj Sharma, Municipal Commissioner Manisha Khatri, CEO of Zilla Parishad Ashima Mittal, CEO of Nashik Metropolitan Region Development Authority Dr Manikrao Gursal, Superintendent of Police Vikram Deshmane, and Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department, among others.
Fadnavis highlighted the Trimbakeshwar area’s natural beauty at the conference and reassured everyone that the suggested development plan created by the district government would be carried out.
“The proposal will be authorised under the High-Power Committee under Chief Minister’s direction. Under this project, Trimbakeshwar will see several development activities carried out.
The Simhastha Kumbh Mela is set for 2027, hence related development projects have to be finished within a set period. The scheme calls for using public transportation most of Nashik and Trimbakeshwar, including electric cars, and making sure local residents have least disruption.
Furthermore, the CM advised, good sanitary facilities and solid waste management should be placed.
He advised starting the sewage treatment initiatives aimed at cleaning the Godavari River right away with the finest available technology. Including all the long-term initiatives should start right away as well.
Earlier, District Collector Sharma gave a thorough presentation on the ₹1,100 crore Trimbakeshwar Development Plan. Given the spiritual and tourist value of the site, the plan calls for development projects. Attending the conference were public officials from several departments as well as representatives.
