Weather Alerts and Concerns About Flooding

1. Mumbai Yellow Weather Alert: Mumbai is expected to get moderate to heavy rainfall in a number of locations today, according to the weather service’s yellow alert. Given the recent heavy rainfall in the area, this alert represents a continuation of continuing weather concerns[1].

2. Palghar District Flooding: As a result of the previous four days’ intense rain, Palghar has also been under a yellow alert for the next three days. As of right now, the Surya and Vaitarna rivers could flood because the Dharmani dam is reportedly 53% full[1].

3. School Closures in Raigad: Dr. Kishan Jawale, the district collector, has ordered the closure of schools and colleges in the Raigad district, including Mahad, Poladpur, Mangaon, and Karjat, due to the unfavorable weather[1].

4. Damage Assessment in Dhule: Within a month, the Shindkheda taluka in Dhule recorded more than 400 millimeters of rain, causing considerable damage to crops. Farmers are now requesting from the government prompt assessments and payment[1].

1. MNS Readies for Elections to the Assembly: The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) is getting ready for the next round of assembly elections with greater vigor.
