Election Schedule and Key Dates

The Maharashtra State Election Commission has set a clear timeline for these civic polls. Nomination filing runs from December 23 to 30, 2025, followed by scrutiny on December 31. Candidates can withdraw until January 2, 2026, with the final list and symbol distribution on January 3. Voting occurs on January 15, and vote counting follows on January 16.

The model code of conduct is already in effect, ensuring fair play. Navi Mumbai’s 111 wards will see active participation, building on the NMMC’s recent publication of ward-wise final voter lists on December 15, 2025. These lists, available at NMMC headquarters, ward offices, the official NMMC website, and social media, promote transparency.

How to Find Your Polling Station

Voters in Navi Mumbai should verify their polling station promptly. The Chief Electoral Officer, Maharashtra, provides an online tool at ceoelection.maharashtra.gov.in. Select “Thane” district and the relevant Navi Mumbai assembly constituency to view the complete list of polling stations.

Additionally, the State Election Commission’s voter portal at mahasecvoterlist.in offers a “Search name in voter list” feature. Download the ‘Matadhikar’ mobile app for quick access to your name, polling station, and candidate details. Printed copies with photos are available for Rs 2 per page at designated centers.

Navi Mumbai falls under Thane district for electoral purposes, so ensure you choose the correct options. Polling stations are typically schools, community halls, or government buildings equipped with ramps, wheelchairs, water, and sanitation for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, pregnant women, and those with infants. ‘Pink booths’ staffed entirely by women will operate in high female turnout areas.

Navi Mumbai’s Electoral Landscape

Navi Mumbai’s NMMC elections cover 111 wards, contrasting with BMC’s 227 single-member wards. Across all 29 corporations, 39,147 polling stations are prepared, with over 3.48 crore voters eligible, including 1.81 crore males, 1.66 crore females, and others. Navi Mumbai contributes significantly to this, with seats reserved for women (1,442 total across corporations), Scheduled Castes (341), Scheduled Tribes (77), and Other Backward Classes (759).

Political dynamics feature a contest between Mahayuti (BJP, Shiv Sena-Eknath Shinde) and MVA (Shiv Sena-UBT, Congress, NCP-SP), alongside MNS and NCP factions. The Thackeray brothers’ reunion adds intrigue. Historical results show Shiv Sena dominance in past polls, but recent splits could shift outcomes.

Polling Infrastructure and Voter Readiness

For Navi Mumbai, expect robust setup similar to BMC’s 10,111 stations with 11,349 control units and 22,698 ballot units. Statewide, 43,958 control units and 87,916 ballot units ensure smooth electronic voting. Over 1.96 lakh staff, including 290 election officers and 870 assistants, will manage operations.

Voters must carry photo ID like Aadhaar, voter ID, or passport. Polling runs from 7 AM to 6 PM, with queues prioritized for vulnerable groups. NMMC emphasizes public access to lists for claims and objections, fostering trust.

Steps to Locate Your Exact Polling Station

  • Visit CEO Maharashtra Polling Station List and select Thane district, then Navi Mumbai constituency.
  • Check SEC Voter List Portal or ‘Matadhikar’ app using your EPIC number or name.
  • Visit NMMC ward office or nmmc.gov.in for ward-wise downloads.
  • Confirm via SMS: Send “Voter ID” to 9210121121 (Thane district code).

While a centralized “complete list” for all 111 wards isn’t published in one document yet, these platforms provide exhaustive, ward-specific details. Voters are urged to check early, as ward boundaries may reflect recent updates from population shifts and redevelopment.

These polls mark the first major civic elections post-2022 administrator rule, with 2,869 seats at stake statewide. Navi Mumbai residents can contribute to local governance by participating actively on January 15.
