Uddhav Thackeray Raj Thackeray Alliance Likely to Strengthen Marathi Pride
Uddhav Thackeray has reaffirmed his relationship with his cousin Raj Thackeray, highlighting their shared dedication to Marathi identity and Maharashtra’s advancement. He said that talks are still going on and that he is willing to take action to support Marathi culture, language, and people. Concerns regarding possible local-level decisions made by Congress inside the MVA alliance regarding municipal elections were also addressed by Thackeray.
MUMBAI: Uddhav Thackeray reaffirmed on Sunday that the two cousins remain together, despite MNS president Raj Thackeray’s studied quiet over an alliance with Sena UBT following their “victory rally” earlier this month. “Whoever is against two brothers getting together should handle it. Together, we will realise Maharashtra’s ambition.
In an interview with the party journal Saamna on Sunday, Sena UBT chief Uddhav stated, “The right decision will be taken at the right time,” according to Priyanka Kakodkar.
“Talks will happen,” he stated in response to a question about whether any discussions had been had about the two joining forces politically. After twenty years apart, we reunited. That is no small matter. I’m prepared to take any action that may benefit Maharashtra’s Marathi population, language, and culture.
“I can call him when I get on the phone. He can give me a call. We shall meet in public if we must. Not only are the Marathi people delighted because of our reunion, but our Muslim brethren are also,” he continued.
“When we held talks, Congress said they may take decisions at local level,” he said, referring to the potential MVA coalition for elections in municipal corporations. We will act accordingly if that is the case.
“He is the CM, and we hope he does some good,” Uddhav stated in reference to his recent meeting with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at the state legislature. However, as a former political ally, I can only suggest that he stop the scandals involving his fellow ministers. Lastly, it will damage Fadnavis’s standing.
“BJP is inciting divisions between different states,” he stated in reference to the dispute surrounding the implementation of Hindi in schools. However, we have a clear stance. Hindi is not something we are opposed to, but we do not want it forced upon us.
