Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray claimed on Saturday that the BJP-led administration now wants to seize Hindu temple land for its “builder friends” following Waqf land.
“Why talk about Waqf alone, see what is happening in Ayodhya. Adani and Lodha are acquiring land there. The same is true in Prayagraj. It could take place in Pandharpur. They (BJP) are already looking at Church land. He spoke at a press conference in Mumbai and added, “They would also go for Buddhist land.
Aaditya claimed even Hindus ought to participate in the Waqf Bill protest. Tell me one item that is helping Hindus out of it (the Act). Our lands, rather, will suddenly be in peril. I believe even Hindus should participate in the demonstrations.
Despite the great majority it earned in the election, Aaditya also criticised the administration for failing to fulfil the pledges it made in the first 100 days of its term. When this government took office, we were informed about the 100-days project. What has transpired? Failure to offer farm loan waiver, resignation of a minister, crimes against women and occurrences like death of a sarpanch and a Dalit activist in Parbhani. What good is the majority if this government is failing on all fronts?
