The threat mail warned the young politician would suffer the same end as his father and NCP leader Baba Siddique, if the money is not paid.
Former MLA and NCP leader Zeeshan Siddique has gotten emails threatening Rs 10 crore in which the sender has used underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s identity.
The threat email stated that if the money is not paid, the young politician would suffer the same fate as his father and NCP leader Baba Siddique.
On October 12 outside his son Zeeshan’s Bandra (East) workplace, three attackers shot dead 66-year-old Baba Siddique. The murderers said they belonged to the Lawrence Bishnoyi gang.
Police sources say Zeeshan has been getting email threats since last two days. The sender, they said, has been emailing reminders every six hours.
Thereafter, the ex-MLA on Monday went to Bandra police and lodged a case. Later in the evening, police went to Zeeshan’s home and took his statement.
Ex-MLA Zeeshan Baba Siddique got a threat email. According to Nimit Goyal, DCP Local Arms (Kole-Kalyan) in charge of DCP zone-9, Bandra police station is now filing FIR.
Zeeshan had gotten a threat call earlier in October last year.
Last year, Mumbai police crime branch had detained at least 26 individuals in the Siddique murder case, including the main shooter Shiv Kumar Gautam and have named gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother Anmol Bishnoi, key conspirators Shubham Lonkar and Zishan Mohammed Akhtar as the wanted accused in the case. Later, Anmol Bishnoi was detained in the United States.
