Posted as commissioner of Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation, Radhabinod Sharma is a 2012 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer.

Sharma was earlier joint commissioner with the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), and his move is in keeping with state minister Devendra Fadnavis’s plan to keep promotee IAS officers away from satellite towns of Mumbai. Earlier, the chief minister put Anmol Sagar in Ulhasnagar and Manisha Awhale in the Bhiwandi Nizampur Corporation.

Deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde calls MMR home ground, but Fadnavis has been making inroads through important appointments. Changes also are scheduled for MMRDA, City Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC).

Within a month of her employment, the state government also moved Vaidehi Ranade from MSRDC under joint management direction. Ranade has been placed as chief executive officer of the Ratnagiri zilla parishad since some contractual officials hired by the previous government caused obstacles in her operations.
